Connecting Across
the Alps…
Did you know that Dependable Strength is spreading its wings
all across the Alps to Sweden?
 |
|
Jan-Edolf Bystrom and
Bo Haglund, career counseling psychologists in Sweden,
wrote to the Center for Dependable Strengths expressing
interest in the Dependable Strengths Articulation Process.

Jan-Edolf and Bo are working on methodological development
in career guidance and counseling within the Swedish State
Employment Services. They work with newly employed psychologists
and counselors.
When asked how they found out about Dependable Strengths,
here’s what they had to say….
“First from a conference article –
“Career as Story” that focuses on the Dependable
Strengths Articulation Process as a method to use with multicultural
populations”. Then we checked out the Dependable Strengths
Web site”.
They went on to add:
“Over the past decade, Sweden has
seen the influx of a lot of new immigrants and refugees, who
need special assistance getting into the labor market and
finding adequate job opportunities. So we are researching
different methods to help with this process. Our expectations
are to learn how the Dependable Strengths Articulation Process
works and if possible, to transfer the DS concept and process
to our context”.
Both Jan-Edolf and Bo are planning to attend the 5-day Dependable
Strengths training soon!
