A number of exciting things have happened in our Executive
Committee since the last update.
First, we have added some new members. We welcome Bob Pack
as our newest Adjunct Member. Bob works for the State of Washington
in the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. He has been
a tireless crusader for Dependable Strengths since his DS
training a number of years ago at the UW. His efforts have
paid off with an initial workshop for DVR staff coming in
May. After that experience, Bob will become a Level 3, Local
Trainer and will continue additional DS trainings for other
DVR staff around Washington. His commitment, integrity and
energy are a great addition to the Executive Committee.
We also welcome back Dr. Cheryl Roberts. Cheryl is one of
the “original” members of the DS effort in Seattle,
becoming involved with Bernard and Jean in the early 90’s.
She has been an ex-officio member all these years, and now
is available to join our monthly meetings. Cheryl brings a
tremendous background with DS as well as her own unique strengths,
which will add greatly to our work.
Secondly, we have restructured the Executive Committee to
an extent. We now have Co-Chairs of the Committee: Susan Terry,
Director of the University of Washington Center for Career
Services; and Allen Boivin-Brown. As we grow, there is a need
to spread the leadership. Susan has taken on added responsibilities
in this regard. Her leadership strengths are a vital asset
to our success.
Since taking on this role, Susan has passed her duties as
Secretary to Patrice Tabor. Patrice diligently takes notes
on all our proceedings and keeps us on task by reminding us
of the action items from each meeting. Patrice does an excellent
job and a vital one to our functioning as an organization.
A big welcome and thank you to all these members of our Executive
Committee!
Allen-Boivin Brown, President
Center for Dependable Strengths
