East Coast Regional Center for Dependable Strengths
Dependable Strengths is growing from coast to coast! A new
Director, Anne Scholl-Fiedler, was recently appointed to
the new East Coast Dependable Strengths Center. The new Center
is fortunate to have Anne who brings many years experience
delivering DS training to a variety of organizations and
groups.
Anne shares with us her thoughts about the East Coast Dependable
Strengths initiatives:
“Greetings from the East
Coast! When I first became exposed to the Dependable Strengths
Articulation Process
in 1995 I was hooked on this simple yet powerful process
of self discovery. I really wanted to incorporate the principles
into some of the work we were doing at the Center for Career
Services at the University of Washington. With the mentoring
of Jean and Bernard, we were able to accomplish some amazing
things in collaboration with numerous departments and divisions
on campus, including the development of a credit career class. Several years later, I had the fortunate opportunity to
present with Bernard and Jean at the Middle Atlantic Career
Counseling Association in Pennsylvania. During this three
hour keynote, we had engaged our audience. It was during
the business luncheon at the conference that we began our
discussions of bringing Dependable Strengths to the East
Coast.
Relocating back to the East has given me the chance to turn
people on to the process, and not surprisingly, it has caught
on. Last month, I presented a three hour introduction to
Dependable Strengths for members of the Maryland
Institute for Employment and Training Professionals (MIETP) at their
annual conference.
MIETP will be hosting the first
Summer Institute training for persons interested in facilitating
Dependable Strengths
with their own audiences during the week of August 9th. For
more information on the Summer Institute, check out www.mietp.org or call 410-290-9406”.
Anne will work closely with Seattle’s Center for Dependable
Strengths to develop the capacity to deliver a full complement
of DS training and resources throughout the East.
