Factor #5 - FACILITATOR STRENGTHS

It always surprises me (less now than at first) how often the principles and concepts of Dependable Strengths apply to problems I run into. In this case, as a team of facilitators assigning steps, consider that you are forming a "Partnership of Excellence". Remember the lessons from that activity? Well here is a chance to apply that learning. There are 58 tasks to perform. Each of you will "do well and enjoy " facilitating some steps more than others because of your own strengths. Your strengths may fit the "lecture" pieces best, or the interactive discussions while being incompatible with giving clear directions, for example. So distribute the 58 steps according the strengths of your facilitation team. Use the "Partnership" model. This is a chance to practice what you will be preaching!

(However, don't forget that Step 33- Coping With a Job You Dislike also comes into play. There are almost always be parts of any job which you may not like but will have to do. The same is true of facilitating DSA. You may have to pick up unwanted slack where needed.)

But now that you know your own Dependable Strengths, you can get more of what you want. Dependable Strengths should be a factor in the DSA steps you choose to facilitate, as they hopefully are in all decisions you make about activities in your life. This should maximize your own effectiveness and enjoyment of the workshop.

And finally, remember that the DSA process will work - even inspite of us at times. So prepare, do your best, then enjoy your workshop!
