Each DSA Step is timed. You should aim
for a fairly equal distribution of time up front presenting.
This can never be exact, of course,
but again is something to shoot for. This is not only for your
sake but for the participants too. To your benefit, an even distribution
of up front time enables the audience to perceive the facilitators
as co-equals, which lends credibility for each. With credibility,
you are more likely to have participants buy-in to what you say.
And in a sense you are trying to "convince" people to
accept new ideas and perceptions - to change. So your credibility
is important.
The other purpose is to give the audience fairly
equal involvement with each presenter. I hate to say this (I hope
it doesn't bruise your ego!) but not every participant will think
you are the best facilitator on the team. Some will favor you, others
won't and still others will be quite neutral. That is simply the
truth in any group - you can't please them all. For the sake of
the process, however, they need to have their "favorite"
up front as much as any other. This will keep them engaged and open
to the process.
