Some steps of the DSA process naturally "connect" with
each other or "cluster" together because of a common
topic. For example, the beginning steps about Good Experiences
(GE), Steps 5 - Earliest GE and 6-Pair on 2 are connected because
they both relate to the topic of "Good Experiences".
Another example, Steps 21-24 which involve explaining the "Report".
It is best for one facilitator to do
these "connected" parts.
This not only makes for a smooth flow and continuity in the minds
of the participants but enables the facilitator to address any
subtle quirks or questions which may have occurred earlier. For
example, the facilitator of Step 5 notices a participant who may
have misunderstood the definition of a Good Experience. A different
facilitator for Step 6 is not aware of this, so plunges ahead overlooking
the situation only to suffer the repercussions later.
Another type of connectedness among Steps
are those which involve a "follow up" to an activity,
for example, Steps 10 - Quads and 11 - Debrief Quad
Experience. It makes for good continuity to have the same
person who sent people into quads to also de-brief the experience.
Other examples of this are Steps 19 - Pair n' Prove &
20 - Discuss Pair n' Prove; 41 - Partnership of
Excellence & 42 - Reports on Partnership of Excellence,
etc.
